Last Call – 2021 Classes No Letters after Today
It is a bit surreal to be thinking about 2021 in view of this year, but in lots of ways we are looking forward to moving on and a fresh start next year. As we move into term 4, we will be starting to work on class composition for 2021. This can cause some concern for parents. Please be assured that staff, spend a considerable time working on class construction, to enhance the educational opportunities for all students. Class groupings are formed around mixed gender, educational grounds and creating classes of equitable numbers. Children are asked for an indication of who might be great learning partners for them. Teachers consider who students work well with and will work to meet the needs of all students. Our class formation policy is at the back of the newsletter. Teachers are allocated to classes in the final stages.
If you feel there is an issue that would affect your child’s placement please put this in writing to Sue by Thursday October 22 to enable us to take this into consideration. Parents are not able to request particular teachers, however, we recognise that there may be circumstances we are not aware of that we may need to know about. We will of course make classes that provide the best educational opportunities for all students. These can be emailed to the school email address.
If by some chance you have forgotten to put in your enrolment form for prep 2021 please get it in to the office. If your family is moving on next year (aside from year 6 students) please notify the office in writing so we can plan accordingly.
Assembly Next Week
Children will have assembly from next week as a school activity. Award certificates will start again. We will have a welcome to country, listen to the anthem and have a range of announcements and the certificates.
Curriculum Day and Cup Day
Monday 2nd November is our Curriculum Day and Tuesday 3rd is Cup Day. We hope you enjoy the family four day weekend. Teachers will be working on planning for 2021 and continuing the work they have started on assessment as we return to school.
Prep Transition On Line
Prep transition has started on line small group sessions for our 2021 preps. Josh Chamberlain and Alana Aiello are doing a great job planning and preparing activities for these sessions. Any questions please contact the office.
Whole School Transition
Our whole school transition program is in the planning stage. Please be reassured the needs of all students will be taken into consideration.
Exciting Additions to the School
Our new totem poles of our values have been installed at the front of the school along with new signs on the gate. It is exciting to see these installed and they are a great addition to our school. Our students and staff live these values every day. Watch out for our new school signs coming soon!
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE:
2021 Parent Payment information is now available on Compass through Course Confirmation. Please take the time to read through all the information provided and direct any queries you might have to our Business Manager, Skye Thornton. Payment plans are available through your Compass access or you may prefer to contact us directly. We would also encourage families to contribute to the voluntary contributions in the form of Grounds & Facilities fund and/or Library & Building fund. These funds are vital to support the running of additional programs and purchase of resources. The School Assistance fund provides an opportunity for parents to support others in need within the school. We thank you in advance for your contribution.
Once 2021 payments have been made, book packs can be collected from the office from Friday 4th December. Arrangements for the collection of books will be confirmed closer to this date.
