Welcome Back to School Picnics
Our welcome back to school picnics have been a great success. This week we held our 5/6 and 1/2 picnics. It was great to see the captains organising some activities for the senior school.
We thoroughly enjoyed all our catch ups.
Gates for Years 3-6 Students
Moving forward students in years 3-6 can enter via gates 3 and 4 anytime from 8.45am (no earlier please) and exit from either gate at 3.30pm. Please don’t congregate on the path or nature strip. Students will continue to hand sanitise at the classroom each day.
Parents can bring their children inside the gates and pick up just inside the gates for students in Prep-6, however, we still ask that parents don’t enter the buildings. All parents need to leave by 9am in the mornings and leave as soon as practical after pick up. Again we do ask that parents don’t enter the building.
End of year Activities
Graduation will be going ahead for year 6 with a mixed experience. Our year 6 families will join us on the Ellim-Atta on Monday 13th December for a ceremony to farewell our students and students will then attend a student dinner and student disco at the Knox Club.
We are planning class parties and a colour run before the end of the year. The colour run will be organised and run by senior school students and will be held on Wednesday 15th December. This end of year activity and will not be a fundraiser but there will be the opportunity for families to make a donation to school through Compass. We will be entrusting this to our senior students as a learning opportunity and we will not need volunteers on the day.
Class parties will be organised for Tuesday 14th December. Students will bring their own special lunch box of their favourite foods and teachers will organise fun activities appropriate to the age of the level.
Reports
Reports will be available on Compass on Friday 10th December. Please download and store, particularly year 6 families. If you have any questions regarding reports email your class teacher and they will organise a time to discuss. There will be a Compass post when the reports are ready.
2022 Prep Transition
Our first on site transition session was held on the 17th and was fantastic. The new students managed themselves very well and had some fun creating some beautiful work showing themselves in their future uniforms. Thank you to the families who made our jobs so easy preparing your children and sharing in a coffee time. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our information night for prep 2022 was held last night. It was great to come together again. Parents were able to ask questions, mix with others and hear from staff and current prep students. Parents were given the information regarding their classes and teachers in preparation for the final session on December 7.
2022 In House Transition
We always complete some in-house transition and this will go ahead this year and culminate in students going for a session in their new rooms, with their 2022 teacher on the afternoon of December 7. Our new staff will attend on that day and meet their new classes. Parents can support their children speaking positively about change and moving forward to 2022. The staffing list for 2022 is repeated below.
Hot off the press is news that Megan Casey will be leaving us to take up a position at the Brotherhood of St Laurence in the disabilities field. As you all know Megan has been doing a wonderful job with Japanese and the enviro centre and we wish her all the best for a bright future.
